The Virtual Foundation - your donation makes it happen
Become a Pioneer Internet Grantmaker with a Matching Grant
Thanks to support from foundations, such as the Open Society Institute
and the Trust for Mutual Understanding, the Virtual Foundation has funds
to match contributions from individual and group donors. These
institutions wish to assist private donors who are interested in becoming
pioneers in the new world of Internet philanthropy.
The following are guidelines to inform and assist those considering making
a donation to a Virtual Foundation project. These guidelines were
established in order to determine the eligibility of donors for matching
funds and the amount of funds that can be used to match a donation.
Matching funds are available:
- For individuals and non-profit organizations such as churches, school
clubs, community service groups, etc. Corporate donors and other
foundation donors cannot qualify for matching funds;
- Primarily to first time Virtual Foundation donors;
- On a "one to one" basis (i.e. one dollar of matching funds to one
dollar from the donor) up to a maximum of $1,500 USD;
- Upon request by the donor or at the initiative of Virtual Foundation
staff. Matching funds will not be granted automatically.
If you have questions about the availability of matching funds, please
contact the Virtual Foundation staff at (888) 801-7101 or
webmaster@ecologia.org.
